Drones Struck Critical Targets Deep Behind Russian Lines
On the night of July 6, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces carried out an attack deep behind Russian lines and struck 47 military targets.
Major Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, reported on the successful attack.
Among the most important targets were two Russian tankers in the Sea of Azov that were transporting fuel to the temporarily occupied Crimea.
According to the commander, each vessel was carrying about 7,000 metric tons of fuel—roughly the equivalent of 200 railroad tank cars.
Ukrainian drones also successfully struck a Russian oil depot in Crimea.
In addition, the Russian “Nebo-U” radar station was attacked. Two S-400 “Triumph” anti-aircraft missile systems were hit simultaneously.
According to Robert Brovdy, the Russian occupiers had been using these systems to launch missiles at civilian cities in Ukraine.
Just the day before, the Ukrainian military reported a successful attack by combat drones on the Russian city of St. Petersburg. The largest oil terminal and a Russian Baltic Fleet base were successfully struck.
It was also reported that Ukrainian defenders managed to repel the largest offensive by Russian occupiers. During the battle and the failed attack, the Russian army lost one MT-LB tank and 12 all-terrain vehicles.
