The media are reporting a new coup in Africa: a coup is taking place in the Congo.
The president of the country is in New York, the army is taking control of key facilities in the capital.
Local media suggest that the commander of the presidential guard is leading the coup.
Congo borders the Central African Republic, which is under Russian influence. Moreover, Congo, unlike the Central African Republic, has access to the sea.
The day before, a coup, by the way, took place in neighboring Gabon. And before that – in Niger.
All these countries are former colonies of France, in which Paris retained great influence until recently.
