Orban has arrived on a visit to Moscow

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has arrived on a visit to Moscow, his spokesman said.

His plane landed in Vnukovo. Earlier, it was reported that a plane flew from Budapest to Belarus, and Orban is flying to Moscow on it.

Yesterday, Orban himself did not confirm his visit to Moscow, which was previously reported in the media.

On air on Kossuth radio station, he was asked about his next steps after his meeting with Zelensky in Kyiv.

“Since these steps are of a very sensitive nature, it will be possible to talk about them only after they take place,” the Hungarian prime minister said.

Orban also said that Budapest would like to push Russia and Ukraine to make peace.

He, however, understands that the organization of such negotiations will be handled by major powers.

Orban has just posted a photo from Moscow, where he flew in for talks with Putin.

The #peace mission continues. Second stop: #Moscow,” the Hungarian prime minister wrote in X.

The Russian dictator said he would familiarize the Hungarian prime minister with the nuances of Russia’s “peace initiative.”

“I am ready to talk to you about the nuances. I count on you to familiarize me with your position and the position of European partners,” Putin said.

EU diplomatic chief Josep Borrell said that Brussels had not given the Hungarian prime minister a mandate to hold talks with Putin and that the visit was taking place within the framework of bilateral relations between the parties.
