GPS malfunction in the Baltic States

The German Defense Ministry has accused Russia of GPS malfunctioning in the area of the Baltic States.

Germany is convinced that suspicious manipulations are taking place in the Kaliningrad region, on the territory of Russia.

About this writes Reuters.

“Constant failures in the global navigation satellite system are most likely of Russian origin and are based on failures in the electromagnetic spectrum, including in the Kaliningrad region,” – said the defense Ministry spokesman.

But it declined to give details on how Germany came to this conclusion and the exact nature of the GPS malfunctions.

According to the source, suppression of GPS signals can interfere with commercial airliners, but they can usually operate through other means.

Earlier, the British government reported that Russia may have jammed the satellite signal of the plane on which British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps was returning from Poland.
