A Russian Su-25 attack aircraft was shot down
The Ukrainian military continues to hunt for Russian planes.
This time, the Ukrainian National Guard military detected and shot down an enemy Su-25 attack aircraft. The plane of the Russians was making a combat sortie.
This was reported by the press service of the National Guard. They’re noted that the Su-25 is also known as “Grach”.
“The combined calculation of the portable anti-aircraft missile system (MANPADS) “Igla” of the 31st brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine acted promptly and professionally. With an accurate shot, the Su-25 attack aircraft was shot down,” the report said.
The military also reported that the Russian plane was shot down in Donetsk region. However, it did not specify where exactly it happened.
The Su-25 is a Soviet attack aircraft that was adopted into service back in 1981 and continues to be in service with a large number of countries.
The approximate value of the aircraft is estimated at 11 million dollars, and Russia had a total of about 190 of them before the invasion.
However, more than 30 of them were destroyed by the Ukrainian military during the war.
