Ukrainian FPV drone disrupts Russian Grad launcher attack

The Russian BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket system had barely begun firing when a Ukrainian FPV drone abruptly aborted its attack. The system fired only two missiles before the drone struck, leaving the Russian crew little time to complete its planned salvo.

The video was published by operators of the Signum Battalion of the 59th Assault Unmanned Systems Brigade of Ukraine named after Yakiv Handzyuk. It shows the Russian launcher ready for combat, with missiles already loaded in the launch tubes and apparently ready for a full-scale barrage.

The Russian crew maneuvered the multiple launch rocket system into firing position and prepared it to engage Ukrainian targets. However, after just two launches, the FPV drone reached the system and destroyed it.

The published footage also showed several other Russian vehicles attacked and destroyed during the operation. In one incident, a pickup truck came under fire shortly after Russian soldiers jumped out.

Drone operators also hit an ATV, a camouflaged vehicle, and additional equipment, presumably used to transport personnel or support Russian units.

Repeated rocket artillery attacks could force Russian units to move their launchers further from the front line, complicating their deployment and reducing their ability to fire from exposed positions.

It was also previously reported that Ukrainian forces managed to shoot down and destroy a second Russian Mi-28 attack helicopter in a week. Ukrainian drone operators have achieved another success on the battlefield against the enemy.
