Ukrainian Commander Personally Risks his Life to Save Soldiers

Vladislav Polsky, call sign “Ticher,” is the commander of the assault company of the 475th separate assault regiment “Code 9.2”. He personally drove a pickup truck into a dangerous area to rescue two seriously wounded soldiers after previous evacuation attempts failed.

The footage was released by Ukraine’s Joint Forces Group.

The two Ukrainian infantrymen had completed a mission near Russian positions and were returning when they came under attack from Russian drones. Both soldiers were badly wounded and could no longer move without assistance.

A ground robotic platform was sent to evacuate them. However, the unmanned vehicle was also attacked by a Russian drone before it could complete the rescue.

The wounded men were left exposed in the open. Unable to move, they faced the risk of being spotted again by enemy aerial reconnaissance. Another drone strike could have been fatal.

As the command post searched for another way to reach them, aerial reconnaissance noticed a pickup truck racing toward the area.

The vehicle was being driven by assault company commander Vladislav Polsky. Instead of waiting for a safer evacuation option, he personally took the risk and rushed to rescue his soldiers.

Polsky reached the damaged robotic platform, loaded both wounded infantrymen into the pickup truck himself, and quickly drove them away from the exposed position toward cover.

The Ukrainian military said such actions help explain why soldiers are willing to follow their commanders during some of the most difficult assault operations.

According to the military command, the rescue demonstrated a simple but powerful principle: soldiers know their commanders are prepared to risk their own lives to save them.

It was also previously reported that during the battle, a Ukrainian commander managed to save his soldiers. This occurred during an attack by a Russian FPV drone. The commander destroyed the Russian drone with a shotgun moments before the fatal strike.
