NASA archives contain references to an alien base on the Moon
A reference to an alien base on the Moon has been found in declassified NASA documents, according to the Daily Mirror.
Among the 72 new files that US authorities posted on the Pentagon website on Friday, June 12, was an audio recording of a classified NASA meeting following the Apollo 16 mission in 1972.
During the mission, American astronauts landed on the surface of the Moon for the fifth time and conducted numerous scientific experiments.
During the meeting, NASA employees discussed laser measurements, lunar gravity, and other scientific issues.
During the conversation, the topic initially turned to a “massive hole” near the Van de Graaff crater on the far side of the Moon. Then one of the participants said:
“It could be an alien star base or something. Anyway, the next slide shows the front side of the moon.”
As the publication notes, this was a very careless remark, after which scientists began joking about the “huge hole” on the far side of the satellite.
Pentagon’s PURSUE archive under file NASA-UAP-D025, “Apollo 16 Scientific Debriefing.” The remark about a possible “alien starbase” can be heard at approximately 32 minutes and 41 seconds into the recording.
For decades, the Moon has remained one of the most studied objects in the Solar System. Yet it continues to raise new questions. Scientists still encounter unusual features and unexplained details.
Many strange lunar formations once fueled speculation. Later, researchers found scientific explanations for some of them. However, several mysteries remain unsolved to this day.
The far side of the Moon is especially intriguing. It remains less explored than many people realize. Researchers continue studying data collected during the Apollo era. They also compare it with observations from modern spacecraft.
The newly released recording does not prove the existence of an alien base. Most experts view the remark as a joke. It was made during a technical discussion about lunar features.
Even so, the comment has attracted significant attention. It appeared in an official NASA meeting. That fact alone has sparked renewed interest in the recording.
Whether it was humor or genuine curiosity remains unclear. One thing is certain. The Moon continues to fascinate scientists and the public alike. More than fifty years after Apollo 16, humanity is still searching for answers on Earth’s closest celestial neighbor.
