В Ірані енергетична криза

There is an energy crisis in Iran

There is an energy crisis in Iran: blackouts are being imposed and government agencies and businesses are suspending operations. This is reported by The New York Times

It is known that because of the energy crisis that emerged back in November, government agencies in Iran are closed or work on a reduced schedule.

Schools and colleges have gone online, highways and shopping centers have been plunged into darkness.

And industrial plants have been de-energized, bringing production to a near standstill.

In the past week alone, production could drop by 30-50% and losses could reach tens of billions of dollars.

This is despite the fact that Iran has some of the largest reserves of natural gas and crude oil in the world.

The crisis can be attributed to years of sanctions, mismanagement, aging infrastructure, wasteful consumption and attacks from Israel.

The government was therefore faced with a stark choice: stop supplying gas to homes or suspend electricity.

They chose the second option to avoid security risks and cut off the main source of heat for most Iranians.
