The UAE has been hit by heavy rains

The airport in Dubai went under water. Several settlements were seriously flooded.

Sections of major highways have also been flooded. Authorities are urging local residents to stay indoors.

In Dubai, airplanes are literally floating because of the fact that the runways were flooded by the downpour.

The fact is that there are no tropical showers in the Emirates, as about 80% of the country’s area is desert.

The sands do not retain moisture and most plant species do not take root well, which makes the UAE climate dry and hot, and the amount of precipitation is minimal.
