The first statements of Trump and Zelenskyy at the meeting.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Donald Trump in New York.

Trump said that if elected, he is ready to work with Democrats to end the war in Ukraine.

He expressed hope that he would find a “good” solution for both Ukraine and Russian Federation before the inauguration.

Zelenskyy said they share a common view that the war must end, Putin cannot win, and Ukraine must win.

The Ukrainian president said he wants to discuss his plan for victory with Trump.

Trump said Zelenskyy is going through an incredible ordeal.

“We’ll discuss it and see where we can get to,” the Republican added.

Trump also said he has a good relationship with both Zelenskyy and Putin.

“I hope we have a better relationship with you,” Vladimir Zelensky commented.

We both want this war to end.

And we both want it to end up fair. I think it will happen at the right time, Trump, after meeting with Zelenskyy.
