Observing nature reduces physical pain
Scientists have stated that observation of nature reduces physical pain. About it, writes The Independent.
World scientists conducted an experiment in which volunteers were exposed to weak electric shocks.
The experiment was conducted while watching different videos: landscapes, city streets and office buildings.
The results showed that the subjects felt less pain while watching nature.
And further brain scans confirmed that the brain processes pain signals differently.
Although the effect of nature watching is half as weak as that of painkillers, it is still significant.
The researchers emphasize that this can in no way replace medications.
But it can be an additional way to combat pain – even if the contact with nature is virtual.
