A tent camp of protesters is demolished in Tbilisi

Police in Tbilisi demolished a tent camp of protesters against the election results in Georgia.

The protesters were gathering near the building of Tbilisi State University.

The authorities say that the opposition protesters blocked traffic on Chavchavadze Avenue, which is why they were pushed back.

On the eve of the demolition, the protesters were offered to clear the territory on their own, but they refused.

During the operation, clashes broke out. Several people were injured.

The police began to detain the protesters harshly and used tear gas. Nika Melia, one of the leaders of the opposition party Akhali, is among those detained.

As is known, the elections to the Parliament of Georgia were held on October 26. According to the CEC, the pro-Russian governing party Georgian Dream won.

The opposition considers the voting results falsified.
