Ukrainian Ground Robot Escapes Russian Drone Strike at the Last Moment

A Ukrainian military ground robotic system narrowly avoided destruction after its operator reacted at the final moment and moved the vehicle away from an incoming Russian drone attack.

The dramatic footage was published by the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Mstislav the Brave. The video shows how the remote operator successfully changed the robot’s movement as an enemy drone approached for a strike.

According to the Ukrainian military, the Russian drone had already targeted the ground robotic vehicle when the operator managed to remove it from the attack path. The maneuver happened only seconds before the expected impact.

After avoiding the strike, the robotic system continued carrying out its mission. The Ukrainian soldiers said the vehicle was delivering an important supply package to troops positioned near the front line.

“When the Russian drone attempted to attack the NRK, the operator calmly moved the system away from its sights just before the impact,” the brigade reported. “The robotic platform continued its task, allowing soldiers to receive the necessary supplies.”

The incident highlights the growing role of military ground robots and unmanned systems in modern warfare. Such platforms are increasingly used for logistics, reconnaissance, and support missions in dangerous areas where sending soldiers could put lives at risk.

It was previously reported that it took Ukrainian infantry just 30 minutes to counterattack and recapture their positions captured by Russian occupiers. During the counterattack, the Ukrainian infantry also managed to free two of their comrades from captivity.
