What happened during the famous Tehran UFO incident in 1976
In September 1976, residents of the Iranian capital reported seeing a large and unusually bright object in the night sky. The reports eventually reached the Iranian Air Force, which sent two F-4 Phantom II fighters to investigate.
According to accounts of the incident, one pilot reported that the object appeared exceptionally bright. As the fighters approached, the crews allegedly experienced problems with their aircraft systems and communications. The pilots were unable to complete the reported interception as planned.
