Russian Occupier Tries to Fend Off a Ukrainian FPV Drone with a Brick
A Russian occupier came up with a desperate way to defend himself against an FPV drone: playing basketball with it. But instead of a basketball, he used a brick.
The unusual scene was captured on video and later published by the “Omega” Special Operations Center of the Ukrainian National Guard.
The footage shows a Russian soldier hiding near ruined buildings as the drone approaches him. Realizing that staying in cover won’t protect him, he picks up a brick and tries to hit the approaching drone.
The attempt looks more like an impromptu game of basketball than a combat encounter. The occupier swings the brick at the drone as it circles around him.
The “Omega” unit joked about the incident in the video description, calling it a new form of “FPV basketball” in Donbas.
According to the unit, there were no balls, so he decided to use a brick instead. The joke also alluded to how drone operators continue to sink their “three-point shots.”
It was also previously reported that Ukrainian drone operators openly taunted a Russian combat helicopter. Ukrainian drones delivered precision strikes against oil tankers right under its nose during an attack on the Russian shadow fleet.
