The Ukrainian intelligence special forces unit “Ghosts” successfully attacked a Russian Be-12 “Chaika” aircraft, three boats, and a support vessel.
This was reported on May 5 by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
Ukrainian special forces continue to implement a systematic approach to eliminating Russian military facilities in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
During the operation, intelligence operatives struck a number of targets related to the enemy’s amphibious assault capabilities, naval support, and aviation component.
The following were struck and put out of commission:
- three Project 05060 assault boats;
- a supply vessel;
- a hangar for storing Project 05060 assault boats;
- a Be-12 “Chaika” anti-submarine amphibious aircraft.
“Despite the enemy’s attempts to disrupt the combat mission, our specialists continued the operation and achieved another significant result, weakening the Russian occupation army,” the General Intelligence Directorate stated in its report.
Earlier, reports emerged of a successful attack by Ukrainian combat drones on a chemical plant in the Russian city of Sterlitamak. The strike aimed to deprive the Russian Air Force of a major fuel producer.
