Zelensky unhappy with leaked secret talks with the White House

Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed dissatisfaction with the leak of secret talks with the White House about Tomahawk missiles.

The New York Times quoted a senior US official as saying that Ukraine was requesting long-range US Tomahawk missiles in its “victory plan”.

However, Ukraine’s president said the information was a non-public part of his plan.

Zelensky expressed doubt that there could be something truly confidential between the partners if such information was made public to the media.

He said the data was confidential and was only meant for the White House.

“It was confidential information between Ukraine and the White House. How to understand these messages? It means that there is nothing confidential between the partners,” Zelensky said.

He added that as part of the “victory plan” he asked partners to provide Ukraine with long-range weapons as a preventive method.

“They answered me that this is an escalation,” Zelensky said.

When we handed over the Victory Plan to our partners, some of them said that we want too much, and we just want to live: President of Ukraine.
