84 years together – a couple from Brazil has set a world record for the longest marriage.

Manoel Angelim Dino and his wife Maria de Souza Dino have made it into the Guinness Book of World Records.

They have the longest marriage among living couples. They have been married for 84 years and 77 days.

Manoel and Maria met in 1936, when they were both working in agriculture.

But it was not until 1940 that fate brought them together again. This time, Manoel asked Maria out on a date.

He managed to get the consent of the future mother-in-law, and soon they played a wedding.

Now the Guinness Book record holders have 13 children, 55 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Manoel is 105 years old and Maria is 101 years old. When asked about the secret to their long marriage, Maria says it’s simply Love.
