US Announces New Sanctions Package Against Russia
The US has announced a new package of sanctions covering about 400 entities from Russia and countries that help circumvent sanctions.
All of them are related to the Russian fuel, energy, and metallurgical sectors.
The financial sector and the supply of dual-use goods for the Russian military-industrial complex in circumvention of sanctions are also affected.
The sanctions are also imposed on the largest coal exporters from Russia and two subsidiaries of Rosatom.
The sanctions also include numerous intermediaries from the UAE, Hong Kong, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and China that supplied microelectronics to Russia.
The US is also tightening controls on exports to Russia and Belarus and restricting the access of companies from these countries to software for numerically controlled machines.
It has also become known that the son and daughter-in-law of the new Russian Defense Minister, Andrey Belousov, are included in this package of sanctions.
