Trump’s emotional response to a journalist from Ukraine

It’s not easy. Say hi to him from me — Trump’s emotional response to a Ukrainian journalist from BBC News whose husband is fighting at the front.

During a briefing in The Hague, Miroslava Petsa asked Donald Trump whether the US was prepared to provide Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems, given the new wave of Russian attacks.

Upon learning that her husband is a Ukrainian military officer, Trump was not indifferent. He asked where she lived and expressed his support.

Regarding Patriot, the part of his response in which it was noticeable that the US head of state was emoting was as follows:

They’re very effective; they’re hard to get. But that’s a very good question. I wish we could provide them to Ukraine.

Social media called the moment a “rare display of humanity” during Trump’s 45-minute speech.

French and American journalists noted that the sincerity and emotion of the journalist from Ukraine visibly affected the US president.

And even, perhaps, it is such personal stories that can change his approach to Russia’s war against Ukraine.

It is also reported that German Chancellor Merz promised that the 18th package of EU sanctions against Russia will still be launched tomorrow. He said at the NATO summit.

“We have to increase the level of economic pressure on Moscow. The European Union is doing this, and tomorrow, finally, will give a go-ahead to the 18th package of sanctions. But this package alone will not be enough; we need more US involvement in sanctions,” Merz said.

He expressed hope that the U.S. Senate would vote in favor of the anti-Russian sanctions bill in the coming days.
