The Ukrainian F-16 pilot showed heroism in the last seconds of his life
The night of June 29 brought losses to the AFU Air Force: while repelling a massive missile and drone attack by the occupants, F-16 pilot Maxim Ustimenko died heroically.
The lieutenant colonel born in 1993 managed to hit 7 targets during the Russian attack on peaceful Ukrainian cities.
“Eternal flight, brother, you did everything you could,” reported in the Telegram channel of the AFU, expressing condolences to the family of Maxim Ustimenko.
It is known that during the last task, the fighter plane received a lot of damage and began to fall.
The hero managed to steer the crashing plane away from a populated area, saving lives, but the pilot was no longer able to eject.
The video shows one of the Ukrainian F-16 fighters using an AIM-9 SideWinder missile to shoot down a Russian target.
It is reported that over the past night, the AFU managed to shoot down 475 air targets. On Ukraine was launched 477 combat drones and 60 missiles.
Cruise missiles Kh-101/55 were launched from Russian TU-95ms. Ukraine was also attacked by Kalibr cruise missiles launched from the Black Sea.
The strongest Russian strikes were on Lviv and the region, as well as Kremenchuk, Mykolaiv, and Donbas.
