UK may transfer DragonFire laser weapons to Ukraine

It has become known that the UK may transfer DragonFire laser weapons capable of shooting down enemy drones and missiles to Ukraine.

This is reported by The Telegraph.

The UK plans to add DragonFire laser weapons to its arsenal of weapons by 2027.

But it is now considering transferring prototypes to Ukraine sooner, even if they are not 100% finalized.

“Let’s say it doesn’t have to be 100 percent perfect for the Ukrainians to possibly get their hands on it,” he said.

“At the moment, it’s still a 2027 date, but certainly I’ll see what we can do to accelerate it,” Defense Minister Grant Shapps said.

The new laser weapon can turn a metal surface into a 3,000°C plasma and can burn through sheet metal, fuselage and weapons in seconds.
