The majority of the French are against Macron’s position on sending troops into Ukraine
It is reported that 68% of the French do not approve of Emmanuel Macron’s position on the possibility of introducing Western troops into Ukraine, 31% agree with it.
These are the findings of a survey conducted by Odoxa-Backbone Consulting for the newspaper Le Figaro.
In addition, the majority of the French (51%) consider Russia “a necessary evil that we must deal with,” that is, they prefer neutrality towards it.
37% call on the head of state to view Moscow as “an adversary that must be fought.” 11% see her as an ally.
It is also reported that Macron called all his words about the possibility of sending Western troops to Ukraine well-considered.
“These are quite serious issues. Every word I say on this matter is weighed and considered,” the French president said.
Earlier, French Defense Minister Sebastian Lecornu explained that we are not talking about sending the military to wage war against Russia.
Participants at the summit in Paris only proposed different ideas about supporting Ukraine.
