Арктика звільниться від льоду через 20 років

The Arctic will be ice-free in 20 years

The Arctic may be completely free of ice in 20 years.

This writes the Daily Mail with reference to the study of climatologist Celine Heze.

He is from the University of Gothenburg, as well as associate professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Alexandru Yang.

Nine out of 300 simulations showed that the ice on the continent would completely melt much earlier, in as little as three years.

This could happen because of a recurring warm fall followed by a mild Arctic winter, the scientists found.

The authors of the study warned that the first day without ice in the Arctic can greatly affect the ecosystem and climate of the Earth.

It is also known that the melting of ice will not provoke a rise in sea level.
