Taiwan’s F-16 took a Chinese J-15 fighter in its crosshairs

A new incident involving a Chinese fighter jet has occurred in the Taiwan Strait, which entered the Taiwan Air Force’s surveillance area.

A video of an F-16 fighter jet equipped with the advanced Sniper targeting system successfully taking a Chinese J-15 fighter jet in its sights has appeared online.

The footage was published on October 15 by the Bulgarian Military.

In their material, the observers revealed the details of the incident.

According to them, this episode became another important moment in the escalating relations between Taiwan and China.

It demonstrates Taiwan’s growing surveillance capabilities amid a prolonged air confrontation in the region.

The Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod has become a key asset to Taiwan’s F-16 fleet.

It is equipped with infrared and electro-optical sensors that enable it to track and identify air and ground targets with high accuracy.

This is especially important in the Taiwan Strait environment, where airspace is regularly threatened.

In this case, a Taiwanese F-16 used the Sniper system to track a Chinese J-15 that had entered the Taiwan Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).

This allowed real-time imagery and data to be transmitted to Taiwanese commanders.
