Stoltenberg came to Kyiv on a visit
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit.
He is now speaking to journalists together with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to the president, they will discuss the July NATO summit in Washington as well as preparations for defense against an expected Russian offensive.
During his speech, Zelensky said that the Russian army was preparing for offensive actions, and we together must thwart its plans.
We are already operating according to NATO standards, using weapons from NATO countries, and guided by Alliance principles and doctrines.
There are three main points on which the power of the Defense Forces depends: seizing the initiative over the enemy, as well as deploying offensive actions.
Stoltenberg said that NATO members, choosing between military assistance to Ukraine and their own armament, “should choose Ukraine.”
According to the secretary-general, “the alliance countries should transfer arms to Ukraine as a matter of priority”.
