Shooting near the Israeli consulate in the center of Munich

The man, who staged a shooting in the center of Munich near the Israeli consulate, was shot dead by police.

Armed with a long-barreled pistol, the man opened fire on five policemen on duty.

In response, they seriously wounded him, and later he died. There is no information on other casualties.

Eyewitnesses say they heard a loud explosion followed by at least a dozen gunshots.
