Russia uses banned chemical weapons in Ukraine
The US Department of State has officially accused Russia of using banned chemical weapons in Ukraine.
It is reported that the Russian army used chloropicrin. It is prohibited by the Chemical Weapons Convention.
Chloropicrin is an asphyxia gas that was actively used during the First World War.
In principle, no special investigation was needed. Previously, the Russian military media themselves boasted that they used chemical weapons.
The new U.S. sanctions list included the radiological, chemical and biological defense troops of the Russian Defense Ministry.
Two institutes developing chemical and biological weapons have also fallen under the sanctions.
A video posted by Russian army soldiers shows the use of chloropicrin.
