Putin commented on Ukraine’s authorization to launch strikes on Russian territory
Putin has commented on the US statements about the possibility of authorizing Ukraine to strike Russia with Western long-range missiles.
According to him, the Kremlin would perceive this as a direct involvement of the West in the war with Russia. This is reported by The Moscow Times.
He explained this by claiming that the Ukrainian army cannot strike with Western precision weapons on its own.
Flight assignments for it can only be made by the NATO military, and the missiles themselves are guided by NATO satellite systems.
“If this decision is made, it will mean nothing but direct participation of NATO countries, the United States, European countries in the war in Ukraine”.
“We will make an appropriate decision based on the threats that will be posed to us,” Putin said.
Earlier, it was reported that Joe Biden would discuss with the British prime minister the authorization for Ukraine to launch long-range strikes on Russian territory.
This was announced by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during a press conference.
The Secretary of State also announced sanctions against Iran over Russia’s supply of short-range ballistic missiles.
