The President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, called for the defeat of Russia
Peter Pavel said this during the commemoration of the victims of Nazi persecution, which took place at the National Cemetery in Terezin.
This is reported by iDNES.
“I would like to urge that we do not abandon our joint efforts to defeat Russia in Ukraine, and thus reject the violation of the rules of the international order that we are witnessing. Our historical experience, which we are talking about today, should be our motive.”
“It is right that we remember this and relate it to today’s situation. Only in this way can we not repeat the mistakes of the past,” the Czech leader said.
During the war, more than 155,000 Jews from all over Europe passed through Theresienstadt (Terezin Ghetto).
More than 35,000 of them died in the ghetto itself, and about 80,000 were sent to Auschwitz and other concentration camps and were killed.
