NATO agreed to cancel (MAP) on the membership of Ukraine’s entry into the Alliance
There was information that NATO members agreed to accept Ukraine into NATO under a simplified procedure. That is, without the implementation of the Membership Action Plan (MAP).
This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Kuleba.
“After intense negotiations, the allies with NATO have reached a consensus on the exclusion of the MAP from the path of Ukraine’s membership.”
“I welcome this long-awaited decision, which shortens our path to NATO. This is also the best moment to clarify the issue of inviting Ukraine to become a member,” Kuleba said.
But the day before, all foreign media reported that membership in Ukraine would not be offered yet.
At the NATO summit in Vilnius, security guarantees for Ukraine will be adopted.
