Israel and Syria have agreed on a ceasefire

It became known that Israel and Syria have agreed on a ceasefire in the southern province of Suweida.

This was announced by U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack. The media say that now there is no fighting in Suweida.

Last week, clashes between Islamists and the Druze inhabiting the province began.

After that, troops of the new Syrian government entered Suweida, which the Druze resisted.

Israel, which supports the Druze, began carrying out large-scale strikes on Julani’s forces, after which Damascus withdrew its troops from Suweida.

This was reported to the AFP agency by military experts and eyewitnesses. Footage of the retreat of government forces is also being published.

The withdrawal of troops came after the head of Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa (Julani) announced that the security in Suweida will now be the responsibility of religious elders of the Druze.
