Iran can only be a great country without nuclear weapons
Donald Trump: Iran can be a happy and great country – but without nuclear weapons.
The US president has said he welcomes the prospect of talks with Iran, expressing hope for a peaceful resolution to the nuclear issue.
“I want Iran to be a wonderful, great, happy country, but they can’t have nuclear weapons,” Trump said.
It is also reported that talks between Trump’s special envoy Whitkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi are due to take place in Oman.
An Iranian delegation led by Abbas Araghchi has arrived in Oman, where talks with the US are expected to take place, SNN reported.
US presidential special envoy Steve Witkoff also arrived in Muscat.
He said Washington insists on dismantling Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, while emphasizing the need for certain flexibility.
According to him, preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons remains an “unquestionable red line” for the Trump administration.
