Autonomous machine gun with neural networks
The U.S. Department of Defense has unveiled an autonomous machine gun with neural networks.
This machine gun can destroy drones without human or radar input.
The American company Allen Control Systems (ACS) has developed the Bullfrog robotic unit for destroying UAVs.
This 180-kilogram turret is equipped with an M240 machine gun with an effective range of up to 1.8 kilometers.
It also features an electro-optical sensor and an Artificial Intelligence computer capable of detecting and tracking the target.
The ACS notes that in modern conflicts, firing at small and maneuvering targets at altitude causes difficulties even for experienced shooters.
Therefore, Bullfrog independently calculates all corrections, leaving the operator only to confirm the shot, although this is not necessary.
Earlier, it was reported that the Ukrainian military will destroy Russian drones with the help of the new Oerlikon cannon.
The Oerlikon Mk3 cannon is a remote-controlled 35-mm anti-aircraft gun designed to respond quickly and accurately to air threats.
