A sniper shot and killed two firefighters fighting a wildfire
It became known that in the United States, a sniper ambushed and killed two firefighters who came to extinguish an arson.
It is reported that in Idaho two firefighters were killed, one wounded – they were shot by a sniper when they came to extinguish a fire in the mountains, writes NYT.
According to authorities, the fire may have been arson – the shooter allegedly set it.
He did it to lure rescuers out. Later, the police found the body of the alleged criminal with a gun.
The incident happened in the afternoon near the town of Coeur d’Alene, where firefighters were battling a blaze on Kenfield Mountain, a popular hiking spot.
The wildfire is now still ongoing. Locals are advised to closely monitor reports from authorities and be prepared to evacuate if necessary.
