$78 Billion Gold Deposit Found
It has become known that a new gold deposit has been discovered in China, which could shake the world’s mining industry.
According to preliminary estimates, the found precious metal reserves are worth about 78 billion dollars.
To date, this is one of the largest deposits in the world, writes the resource Jasondeegan.
It is noted that the discovery was made at the gold-bearing deposit Wangu, which is in Hunan province in central China.
It surprised geologists already during the initial stage of drilling: gold reserves within two thousand meters underground were estimated at 300 tons.
But the total gold reserves within three thousand meters can reach 1,000 tons.
Experts estimate that one ton of ore could contain up to 138 grams of gold.
A rock exploration expert said that gold was literally visible in the rock samples – an extremely rare occurrence for modern deposits.
The team of geologists used new methods to evaluate the deposit. They created 3D models of the gold-bearing veins to accurately map them.
It is believed that it will then become economically viable to develop even deposits that were previously considered unpromising.
