Incredible Greed: Captured Russian Occupier Attempts to Stash Cash from Ukrainian Forces

Even in captivity, a Russian soldier made a futile attempt to conceal a stack of paper currency from fighters of the “Rubezh” Brigade.

According to published footage, the captured occupier was initially ordered to empty his pockets. However, a follow-up, more detailed search uncovered a hidden wad of Russian rubles.

What the captive expected to accomplish with Russian currency while held in Ukraine remains open to question.

Along with the cash, soldiers seized his military radio equipment, which he had been using to transmit position updates to his commanders.

“Do you have any idea how fortunate you are?” one of the Ukrainian fighters remarked. Yet at that moment, the captive’s primary regret seemed to be that he hadn’t buried the money deeper in his gear.

It was previously reported that five Colombian mercenaries who fought on the side of the aggressor country, Russia, laid down their arms and surrendered to a Ukrainian soldier after another Colombian convinced the others to join him and surrender.

It was also previously reported that the Russian occupiers did not even have time to raise their weapons and open fire when Ukrainian infantrymen carried out a daring and sudden raid on the enemy and captured enemy soldiers right at the border.
