President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky dismissed Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny.
“Met with General Valery Zaluzhny. Thanked him for two years of defending Ukraine.”
“We discussed what kind of renewal the Armed Forces of Ukraine need. We also discussed who might be in the updated leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
“The time for such an update is now. He suggested that Valery Fedorovich continue to be on the team. We will definitely win,” wrote Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky.

The former commander-in-chief Valery Zaluzhny also published a message about a meeting with the president.
He didn’t say anything directly about his resignation. But he made it clear that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is changing.
▪️Since 2014, Syrsky has been resisting the Russians. He headed the ATO headquarters and received the rank of lieutenant general.
▪️For the successful defense of Kyiv he was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnitsky, II degree, and on April 5, 2022, he was awarded the title Hero of Ukraine.
▪️In September 2022, Oleksandr Syrsky led the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.
Then the Ukrainian military liberated Balaklia, Kupyansk and Izyum from the Russian occupiers.
