In Afghanistan, stricter rules of behavior in public for women are being introduced.
This follows from the first official document regulating public life. CNN writes about it.
The laws concern such aspects of everyday life as public transport, music, and holidays. A separate article – the 13th – concerns women.
In it, for example, it is said that a woman’s voice is considered intimate, and therefore they cannot sing, recite or read aloud in public.
Also, the law regulates what kind of clothes must be worn by residents of Afghanistan. It cannot be thin, short, or tight-fitting.
– We assure you that this Islamic law will be of great help in promoting virtue and eradicating debauchery, said the press secretary of the Ministry for the Prevention of Debauchery.
There are 35 articles in the document. They affect various spheres of life for Afghans.
For example, the publication of images of living beings, the playing of music, the transportation of single female travelers, and the communication of men and women who are not related to each other are prohibited.
And another article obliges passengers and drivers to pray at a certain time.
For violations of these rules, law enforcement officers may issue warnings or arrest violators.
