Three-time Oscar nominee, star of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, American actor Viggo Mortensen recorded a video in support of Ukraine.
The video was published on the page of the United24 platform in Instagram.
In his address, Mortensen condemned Russian aggression against Ukrainians.
The actor also called the president of Russia’s aggressor country, Putin, an invader.
“Two years of death, destruction and unimaginable suffering for the people of Ukraine. That anyone in the country of my birth, the United States of America, or any other country in the world could ignore such barbarism.”
“The capture of territories by Putin and his government is unforgivable for me. I support the people of Ukraine and their desire for territorial integrity. Long live a free Ukraine,” Viggo Mortensen said.
United24 is a global initiative in support of Ukraine. Funds from sponsors go to the accounts of the National Bank of Ukraine, and then they are sent to relevant ministries.
The platform collects funds in three directions: defense and demining, medicine, restoration of destroyed settlements.
