The US and EU have given Iran until the end of August for a new nuclear deal; otherwise, they will return UN sanctions. About it writes Axios.
If there is no deal, France, Germany, and Britain will restore all the sanctions of the Security Council.
The sanctions were lifted in 2015 through the “instant return” procedure. The EU wants to get it done before October, when Russia takes over the Security Council, the publication says.
Axios also reports that negotiations with Iran are already planned and will begin in the coming weeks.
They promise not to impose sanctions if Tehran returns IAEA authorization and withdraws 400 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60% abroad.
Iran has threatened to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty if it is pressured.
