Unidentified drone flies over NATO base

An unidentified drone was spotted flying over a NATO military base in Germany.

Der Spiegel newspaper reported on this new drone incident in Europe, citing sources.

According to the publication’s sources, the drone flew by at around 7 p.m. local time.

The unidentified drone flew at low altitude directly over the base’s runway.

Military personnel sounded the alarm, and the police were called. The type and origin of the drone could not be determined.

The drone was in the air for about a minute and flew at low altitude over the base’s runway.

This NATO airbase is key to controlling the airspace on the Alliance’s eastern flank, as it’s home to AWACS reconnaissance aircraft.
