He said the UAE froze a $17 billion deal to buy 80 Rafale fighter jets, expressing outrage at Durov’s arrest.

Dotcom emphasized that Pavel Durov is a UAE citizen and a close friend of Deputy Prime Minister Hamdan Al Maktoum.

It is also reported that Durov told the police that on the day of his arrest, he was supposed to have dinner with Macron

This is reported by the French weekly satirical newspaper Le Canard Chainé with reference to sources in the Élysée Palace.

Official Paris denies this information: “The president was in Le Touquet that evening.”
