The U.S. House of Representatives approves aid to Ukraine
The U.S. House of Representatives has approved a bill to provide additional aid to Ukraine.
Details of the U.S. aid package for Ukraine:
49.9 billion in defense spending;;
7.8 billion – potential budget support;
1.57 billion in economic aid;
400 million – funds for border protection and humanitarian demining.
Also passed a bill to use frozen Russian assets (~$5 billion) for Ukraine.
In addition, the document suggests:
requiring partners and allies to pay their fair share based on the results of mandatory cost comparisons
binding agreement on repayment of economic aid from Ukraine
raises financial limits on some presidential spending and cuts authority
The U.S. Senate is scheduled to vote on aid bills for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan on Tuesday, April 23. – Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer
It has also been learned that Blinken will be traveling to China next week on a visit to pressure Beijing to stop supporting the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine.
