A judge in New York has scheduled Trump’s sentencing announcement in the criminal case over payments to porn star Stormy Daniels.
The announcement of the verdict is scheduled for January 10, ten days before the inauguration of Donald Trump. This is reported by the BBC.
Recall that the investigation about the payment of “money for silence” began during the first presidential term of Donald Trump.
According to media reports, in October 2016, a month before the presidential election, the lawyer Michael Cohen made an agreement.
The agreement was with a representative of porn actress Stormy Daniels to pay her $130,000 in exchange for keeping quiet about a possible intimate relationship with Trump.
Cohen initially denied making the payment, but later confirmed that he had transferred the money.
Donald Trump himself has previously consistently denied having a relationship with the actress.
