Donald Trump’s chances of returning to the White House are increasing, writes the British magazine The Economist.
For the first time since August, Trump has overtaken Kamala Harris, according to the publication’s counting methodology.
“Our latest forecast shows that Trump has a 54% chance of returning to the White House, up six percentage points from the previous week,” the article said.
The publication’s reporters record “a steady decline in Ms. Harris’s lead in national polls over the past month.”
The initial increase in the vice president’s indicators, when she managed to overtake Trump, is associated with her nomination.
But her support didn’t grow beyond that. And Trump is now starting to be supported by previously undecided voters.
Also, the reason Trump has pulled ahead is because of his electoral advantage.
State-specific polls confirm that Trump’s position has strengthened a bit, both in crucial states and across the country.
Trump has also gained momentum in polls by pollsters, who typically release good numbers for Democrats.
The Hill reported earlier that Trump had a 10 percent lead over Harris. That said, the vice president has an advantage in a number of swing states.
