TikTok has reappeared on the Apple Store and Google Play in the US
Chinese app TikTok has reappeared on Apple Store and Google Play for users in the US.
Earlier, Trump delayed until April 5 the implementation of a ban on TikTok under a law that was passed under President Biden.
That law on the Chinese social network was passed by the votes of congressmen from both parties.
It mandated that TikTok’s owner, Chinese company ByteDance, sell the U.S. portion of its network to a neutral company.
Otherwise, the social network was threatened with a complete ban in the US.
TikTok is used by more than 170 million people in the U.S. TikTok was briefly shut down in the U.S. in January, before the deadline given by the law.
After that, Donald Trump gave TikTok a 75-day reprieve.
Bloomberg agencies were the first to report on TikTok’s return to app stores.
Apple and Google decided to bring it back after they received assurances from the Trump administration that there would be no claims against them because of it.
