Young Anish Sarkar from India at the age of three has entered the official chess ranking under the auspices of the International Chess Federation (FIDE).
The chess player was assigned a 1555 position in the table. At the time of November 5, he was three years, nine months and ten days old.
At the same time, Anish became the youngest sportsman to enter the world rating.
Such an achievement was possible due to Sarkar’s participation in the Open Championship of the state of West Bengal in India.
The tournament was held among children not older than nine years of age. Anish ranked 24th among 140 participants.
Sarkar was 10 months ahead of Afnan Taivar Aylan from Bangladesh as the youngest representative of the FIDE rating.
Even higher among the youngest chess players are Alonso Rubio of Chile (born October 19, 2020, #1484), and Vu Hao Nghien of Vietnam (born March 9, 2019, #1473).
The rating of the best chess players on the planet is currently headed by the famous Norwegian Magnus Carlsen.
He also owns several “young” records. For example, he became the youngest leader of the FIDE rating at the age of 19 years and 1 month.
