A Florida resident swallowed $769,000 worth of Tiffany diamond earrings during a botched robbery.
In the US state of Florida, police arrested 32-year-old Jathan Lawrence Gilder.
He is suspected of robbing a jewelry store Tiffany & Co. About it, writes WFLA-TV.
Gilder introduced himself as an employee of the Orlando Magic basketball club and convinced store employees to show him expensive jewelry.
After gaining access to the diamonds, he grabbed two pairs of earrings – one worth $160,000, the other $609,500 – and fled.
Police apprehended Gilder on the highway, but the stolen jewelry could not be found immediately.
The clue was found in jail when the prisoner asked guards if he could be charged for what was “in his stomach.”
He was then scanned, and the image showed foreign objects in his digestive tract.
